Yep, I believe you are right. It is my understanding that the "SP" was designed as an "All Version Box" compatible set. If you order it for a v1.0~v1.5 you disregard the plastic template and the spider looking thing w/ the LED's on it. This has been my experience since I have  modded a v1.0, v1.4, and v1.6 box. The last one is the only one I used the template and spider thingy (not sure what its really called?) in. I don't really believe there is much difference in price? Maybe like $5 or so. I just ordered the "SP" pack every time so I dont have to open the box before hand and try to figure out the version. Hope that helps.
