Xecuter 2.6 Problem..

I have a known good (but old) xecuter 2.6 lite,  it works fine in xbox 1..  but i was installing it in xbox 2,  and when i test power without DVD drive or Hard drive connected,  it starts perfect,  but then when i put it all together,  it turns on/off 3 times and frags...  but when i take dvd/hard drive out,  doesnt frag anymore..  anything that would explain this..?
