Update the smartxx os to the latest because it supports the new 1.6b. Thats all I can think of. Also check anything isn't lose.

Make sure no points have continuity with each other.
Inspect the MOBO for loose solder splashes. (I recommend using an eye loup)
The XBOX mobo is tough and can survive some of the worst screw-ups.
Check for lifted traces.

usualy when a xbox wont boot without the chip its a lifted d0 trace or a lpc trace, check over carefully and rebridge any thing needed from the original point
