Xbox V1.6 Duo X2 Installed For Long Time, Now Fragging?
« on: October 16, 2006, 05:29:00 PM »

So I was on these forums months ago and having trouble with my Blue Duo X2 chip.  It was previously fragging due to an error on my part from soldering the wrong points (duh!).  So I fixed it and it was working fine for the longest time.  I think it worked for about 10 months and never used it on Xbox Live or anything Online related.  So I go to power on one day and it starts up and turns off 3 times in a row, then flashes red and green with a black screen.  And i go "oh sh!t".  What could have possibly gone wrong after working for 10 months straight?

Re-check all the soldering and install work you initially did.

So i checked all my work, and the first thing i did was take the modchip out and see if it turned on for the heck of it, and what do you know, it still didn't turn on.  Booted twice and on the third time red and green flashing.  So if it cant even boot with a chip, whats the problem?

But it was running straight with no problems for almost 10 months!  How could it have all the sudden happened without even touching the mobo?!?!

But then why would it not boot up without the chip?  Yeah, it is messed up.  I'll look for broken traces.  But I found some problems where people have been playing dvds or games and suddenly their xbox shuts down due to heat and then it frags out, kinda like something blew.  I dont think that happened to mine but if it did what parts should i salvage?

I'm having the same issues, with a 1.6 and a 1.4 everything was working great but all of the sudden fraggin, even with the chip disabled or detached.. but if the xbox is unplugged for a long time and then you power it on it works for alittle while..weird
