YES you need to flash the chip first.

Did you do this BEFORE installing it in the Xbox?

Yeah you can also do it after the fact too, but make sure that there is NO power to the Xbox when you attempt this.

LoL if youve installed Ps2 modchips

why the hell are you using a pogo pin method ..... Also anyone whos ever really touched a modchip would know it runs on a bios lol

You need to FLASH it with an XBOX BIOS either - EVOLUTION X M7 or X2 4983 , put these into 256K BIOS bank . then install your modchip .... and then flick the dip switches turn it on and you should have a modded xbox

And bro the xbox HD cant be read in the PC

Also your modchip isnt correctly installed it would be fragging it was (its booting nothing)

No, hes right.

I've installed 5 Xbits now, and doing this makes every flash I do sucessful.

anyway, yes, you need to put a bios on the chip first, go to xbins and get one.
