the difference between bios are mainly when they come out since xecuters latest is 4977 it has most every feature

Abso-freaking-lutely nothing.

All the leading mod chips have a 1MB flash ROM which is enough to hold 4 standard BIOS images. If you're a dev guy, it can hold a debug BIOS image and 2 standard BIOS images. You could make the argument that you can hold 4 debug BIOSes on an X-B.I.T., but I don't know if there are 4 debug BIOS images. Also, what developer is going to be caught dead using a pogopin-only mod chip?

Anyway, it still sounds like a bad business maneuver. Having all that bundled into one chip is going to make it very expensive. I'll burn in hell before I buy myself a mod that has pogo pins.

The X2.2 Lite Plus is, $53 + shipping. The X-B.I.T. is going to have all the X2.2 Lite Plus's features, along with a pin header, wire header, and external USB adapter. If they want someone to pay $70 (or whatever the asking price is going to be), they need some incredible features. Divineo shows a price of $45.00 USD + shipping, but that doesn't reflect any of the recent changes (pin header, wire header, USB adapter, 2MB ROM, etc).

Well, you could have the 4977 original, then you can have 7 different 4977 color BIOS'. Damn, I need that chip just so I can have 9 different start up colors. For those of you not so brilliant = 8 color BIOS + the original TSOP. Wasted space if you ask me.

Jesus Fucking Christ. Why would someone who wants to solder their chip in want to have to pay extra to have the pogos on there?

Well, the Matrix is a different story. I really feel that 256K is not enough space to provide any kind of longevity. You can't use any debug BIOS, and if the X3 BIOSes are 512K, you miss out.

no.... then just use a BFM version of the x3 bios... install one of the 2 exploits.. and run the bios from the harddrive... o mys a 120gig bios =x ...

Hey, yout megs migt not be a waste if that nex xbox live thing checks your bios it might also check th esize of the bios so you can put your whole original xbox bios on it instead of just 1/4 of it.

I would buy a brand new mod chip to replace my Matrix only if it can hack Xbox live, any other chip with 1MB, 2MB.....10MB would be a piece of crap to me.
