Drive Constantly Flashing Green

I got a second hand xbox recently. When you boot it the dvd drive always ejects then closes after that the led is  constantly flashing green even if there is a disk inside or not.
Is there a way to stop it flashing? I dont mind replacing the drive but you need to have a solid green led so it will read the second drive dont you?
