Rf Mod And X3 Chip, Strange Happenings

I installed the RF doorbell mod today. I unhooked the wire that runs from the mod chip to the power button because the long signal from the remote tells the chip not to activate. Works great to power on via the remote, and it will power off with the remote also, but only when I power down prior to getting to dashboard. Once it has completed booting, and dashboard comes up, the remote will not power off the unit.

Not a huge deal, but I wondered, what is stopping the off signal once it gets to dashboard?
