Backup Movies
« on: September 11, 2004, 07:48:00 PM »

hi i want to know how to back up dvd movies, i know there is dvd 5 and dvd 9 i think. well anyway, i copy vob files from the xbox to my pc, and then stack all the vobs together to make just 1 vob......what i want to know is can i just burn this 1 vob to a dvd-r and then play it through xbmc. i know the vob file works when stacked because i copied it back to the xbox hdd and it played fine. Dvd's take up to much space so i want to know if and how to burn a .vob to dvd-r.

also the .vob file is under 4.7GB so it will fit on a disc.

thanks in advance

whats forum is it, i think afterdawn.com

tutorials there...

get dvd decrypter, rip the files...

get dvd2one, shrink it down to proper size inside of a folder named VIDEO_TS exactly like that...

using recordnowDX click data disc, add the VIDEO_TS folder, not the files... click options, for dvd choose "closed session" and "up to 128" or "udf joilet" whatever is there... burn and presto..

ive backed up over a hundred dvds with that process, never had one problem.

thats the basics... the tutorials will be more in depth

So by using that method you posted, that would include menus and everything so it can be played on a stand alone dvd player?

so pretty much a 1:1 copy in a way.
