Mine works perfect, even career.  Here is what I did:

1.  Copied the game to my PC using FlashFXP.
2.  Delete dashupdate.xbe, downloader.xbe and update.xbe
3.  Used Adrenalin Patcher v0.5 with Patch.data file created on April 17, 2003 and patched:

TopSpin(Career).xbe
TopSpin(Game).xbe
TopSpin(Menu).xbe
TopSpin(Online).xbe
TopSpin(PlayerCreator).xbe
TopSpin(Shop).xbea
TopSpin(Stop).xbe
TopSpin(Training).xbe
update.xbe

4.  Copied it back to Xbox hard drive and I have the Matrix chip and it works perfect.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a link for the patch app and patch file you are talking about?

use my sig.  It has ADR and the ADR updata data pack for it. just put the data pack in the folder with adr.

I copied this disc to my xbox hdd and am getting the DDE when trying to create a new career.

I was using 4976.02 and I tried patching all the XBE's with Craxtion to no avail. I updated my bios to 4977, still no go. Restored all the XBE's to the originals, tried again, still no go. Tried re-patching all files, still not working.

What am I missing here, i tried all the suggestions I could find in this thread ...

Not sure if this will solve the problem but it was in the x-s news coming from Team Xecuter:

* I've seen quite a few posts these last few days about certain games not working or some people and not others. Well after investigation we found that it was down to a corrupt system clock. The game has an AUTOSAVE feature that doesn't work if the clock is all screwed so it either crashes or refuses to load. If you are having these issues go into your MS dash and set your clock manually and try again - you will find this most probably fixes your problem.

Nope, system clock is good. I even just reset it to make sure. Still can't launch career mode in Top Spin ...

turn ALL IGR off in evox,, you dont need to edit the in i like everyone says to do just use the evox system settings, its a helluva lot easier,, reboot,, then try it..

use latest evox and 4977 bios,,

So u guys keep talkin about this bios and that bios.  I have an Enigmah chip and have also been having problems gettin the game to load.  Does this mean i'm out of luck w/ gettin my game to run off the hd because my old chip.  I get to the screen about the MS copyright info, and it stays there.

man i cant stress this enough

take EVERY XBE file from the game folder on your xbox and bring them to your PC,, patch them,, ftp them back and overwrite the old ones.

use ONLY 4977 bios,  make DAMN sure ALL igr are off in the evox system settings menu.

if the game sTILL aint working then its either a bogus copy or a bad download if you downloaded it, which,, well we aint talking about that.

mine works fine and my xbox is the one it should be giving the most trouble.

1.0 xbox
bert and ernie reloaded w/ PBL 1.3.5i

ALSO

make damn sure your evox clock is correct.

are you using like a madcatz controller or something ? try a regualr xbox controller.
take out all your memory cards delete the save game that IS there,, even if you dont play the game the game creates a save file.
delete the cache files on your E and xyz drives.

if it still aint working there is something about your xbox thegame dont like.

OK! Here's the fix if you get DDE when trying to start Career mode!

Seems during copy to HDD a directory got named wrong somehow. If you are having this problem, perhaps you had the same problem.

Check in the Media directory for a folder that says PlayerCreatorMenuParMedia, this is in error, this directory should be named PlayerCreatorMenuPart

Renamed this dir and now it works perfect ...
