I am an installer and have done more 1.6's than I can count. I always do wire instead of LPC rebuild because I had a few problems with the rebuilds. I have never had a problem using wire.

Well someone brought me a failed atempt and they pulled up one trace. I repaired the trace succesfully but I get no sound. I flashed with 303 and used 3108. The trace that was broken is the one that is wired to pin 8. I rerouted the wire to the top of the board to R7D8. I double checked it to make sure I put it on the correct side. Still no sound.

Any idea's would be appreciated
