I replaced a Default.xbe file that I thought I was supposed to now I get an Error 21 every boot, but it will still load game disks.
Could someone help please?

If your Xbox boots from evodash.xbe, you should have renamed the default.xbe that came with the update to evodash.xbe to properly install UnleashX.

Well I can't FTP into it to do anything and I tried using Frosties Xbox Rescue Disk and it didnt boot.

I take it that its softmodded? Put the disc you used for the mod back in and try to softmod it over again. Maybe even try to just reinstall a new dash from the installer.

Well I dont have the save game on my HDD anymore but I ahve it on a memory card.
I don't have a PC to put the HDD in to sort it out that way.
But I have a laptop if there is any way to FTP it.

You cant even get to the XBOX dash? If you don't have the game saves how was it functioning?

Try booting it with the eject button and let the drawer slide open to see if the XBOX dash boots if you haven't yet.

I have tried using the power button and the eject button both show the boot sequence then take me to Error 21.
I have another soft modded xbox here if there is anything i can do with that to fix the error 21 box.
The dash works without the saves, I have the installer still on the HDD just not the Splinter Cell save to boot it.

Maybe try the newer XBOX LIVE trick. Rent a newer XBOX Live game and install the dash. I wouldnt see why both dashboards would be messed up and you would get that error.

My first softmodded XBOX was bought used at Game Stop by accident. It gave error 21 as soon as I turned iot on but some how it worked on the second boot. I think I used the tray.

Does it play back ups? If so you can DL AID and burn it to disc but you would at least have to have a friend or someone with a PC.

I cant play backups but I tried it in the other xbox and it works there but I think my error 21 xbox has the latest dash because I put halo 2 in it and i still have the problem.

Is there no way to FTP between my two consoles using a game or something so I can get the save file off the working xbox and put it onto the error 21 xbox?

If you cant access the dash you cant FTP.

Dude I just got error 21 cause some idiots bad advice and I fixed it with the AID Disc no problem!

I added the update to E and deleted the evoxdash.xbe and renamed the update to that. I turned it off and got erroir 21 then I used the AID disc to fix it and it worked just give it a few moments and it will boot. It takes a few minutes for some reason but then it works trust me!

But what defualt did you rename?
