How is your xbox modded?  I use the MSDash as a DVD player just fine from my shadowc drive.  Krayzie's Ndure, that is.

If you can still run the msdfash fine then its not a problem at all you just need to go to Setting\Autolaunch go down to the DVD Player bit push A and navigate to the msdash which is useally c:\xboxdash.xbe Unless you have one of the many softmods installed that change it to somthing else.
