On boot up of 0.9n6, constantly hitting 'X' to change track often causes the playback to mute/stop. Can only get sound back by rebooting. Might sound trivial but I use my box as a random jukebox when not playing anything, so for me the feature is important. My two 301 disc multiplayers are too slow. MXM works nicely for background use. ph34r.gif

Well, I do have plans on revisiting the Music Manager stuff - which will be a big re-write of somethings. With the upcoming filemanager, I want to be able to give the user more control over the playback of music as well as allow MOD tracks and such.

Don't know if it's possible, but how an FTP only feature for safe mode. It could use a seperate xml file that has just FTP info in it.

Man, all I do everyday is read about all the goodies that BJ is adding.  I can't wait for the release.  Wish I was one of those WIP guys.

...all good things come to those who wait I guess......it's so hard to just sit and wait and wait and wait..... jester.gif

If you don't have this in your evox.ini:
QUOTE

  Section "Applications"
  {
                   Line "Applications",2
     SortStart
     AutoAddItem "f:\Applications\"
     SortEnd
  }

And you have things manually added for your applications submenu, then add something like this:

QUOTE
Item "Media X Menua","f:\Applications\mxm\default.xbe"

Windows media 9 format crashes MXM.  Windows media 8 format works fine.  Try converting your video.

Why do you only public WIPs?

When to you think, you will public a new release?

LL

WIPs are non-public because I don't want a ton of experimental copies being distributed around the net causing all sorts of support nightmares.

As for the next public release, things are proceeding nicely, but it boils down to how much time I have to put into the code that enables all the stuff planned for the next release.

On the configuration front, things are looking pretty good - I've got a lot of help with some talented people writing scripts. some great scripts/dialogs are being made, so once I finalize the "plug-and-play" some real progress should happen in a short time on that front. The same thing goes with the filemanager (scripts have more power than anything similar on the Xbox, even Nexgen's LUA) - for that, I need to wrap up the listbox control.

That's my primary aim at the moment. When will all the behind-the-scenes stuff be done? Maybe a week to enable the WIP Scripters to go to town on the new stuff they can provide.

I'd say two weeks, maybe three on the outside would be an optimistic estimate.

bj, this may have been answered already, but are you planning on adding some kind of infrastructure to MXM that allows developers to expand MXM through code?  perhaps some plugin skinning capabilities or actionscripts?

EDIT: To clarify, by code, I mean actually compiled code.

Yes, but it may not happen for "o" - I need time to make sure it will work fine, and also to figure out all the hooks.
