yo ill help u out me and my friend have been trying to find out how to get into the other partition of the ps3 but we cant find out wut file system it is but yea if u know how to get to it or if u at least know wut file system its using let me know we think its very similar to the psp's file system though we tried accessing it through the browser with this

since the file doesn't exist then it would just go to the directory but our attempts failed

but if u know of anything or if u have any ideas let me know i got one year warranty on my ps3 so lets try anything haha

Thanks for the offer to help  My logic is we just need to just do a recompile in linux on the PS3 tried but with no success.

i dont know about a recompile since we done even know wut file system its using lol i think if we could just some how get in there i was thinking if we made a ghost image and then some how extracted the files in the image so we could see wuts in there but my friend says thats not gonna work so yea.....

Hardware System is a playstation 3 , Operating System is yellow dog linux 5.0, application needed to port is www.secondlife.com  an MMO environment that was open sourced on 7 Jan.

I was told today this could not be done because sony has blocked access to the RSX and we have to go through hypervisor using frame buffers.  

I love it when people say CAN'T.

This is begining to sound a little more challenging project than I had anticipated.

I am not allowed to download secondlife source (reasons I can't explain on this forum) but it sounds like we may have a great challenge on our hands. Solutions may involve everything from a hack through to creating a virtual graphics accelerator using one of the PS3 SPE's..

Let the games begin!
