Ok, when so I got my PS3 it was fw 1.63 or something like that. I took the installed 60GB hdd out, and put in a 120GB hdd I had. I then formatted it and everything seemed fine, but when I updated to 2.10, there was an error while updating, and it wouldn't do anything. I swapped it to the 60GB drive, and finished the update, and then put the 120GB drive back in and it's been working fine since.

 I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem with using a different drive than the stock hdd while updating (or anything else)? I don't want to have to keep this drive around just for updates.

*EDIT: I'm aware of the 20GB one listed below, however his problem is with his stock drive, so it sounds kinda like it's my issue in reverse*
