Ps3 Noise Issue
« on: November 23, 2006, 05:53:00 AM »

Hi!

i bought recently a PS3 20 Gb.
the machine work well, but i m little worried..
i connected it with the basic bundled composite video cable (Yellow, white, red).
I was surprised, that when i move in the dashboard options, that  i can hear an electric noise from the console, and that noise has intensity variation if i move to differents option in the menu, it stop only when i confirm something in the dashboard or when i enter a subsection. That is not the system fan noise, or the power unit noise, but it come from the ventilation hole under the Blue ray drive and seem to come from the mother board.
it is like the noise from some PC motherboard or barebone Pc, when  you scroll up down web pages.
it is not maibe an issue, but as i do not have two PS3!the noise is not very loud but can be hear and i cannot check if that "video" related electric noise is normal and common to all PS3, or if i got a deffective unit.
the noise is constant under the dashboard and has intensity variations by moving between the options.

if some one could check that, i would be very glad!

thank you very much
