It is a paint job, and it's easier to do than you think. After the brown base is applied you take a lit candle and wave it around close to the surface so it leaves soot behind. After that apply your clearcoat. It's an old technique from the '60s.

thats a pretty cool technique. Sort of a quilted maple effect, ill have to try that some time.

It is all handmade, every step is difficult and take time, there was 3 layer on the cover of PS3, brown, black and glossy at last. You may find a "look a like" but never find a another like this one, because its handmade, never be the same.
