so which blu-ray title do all yall get across the ocean with your ps3's?? is that the 1000 percent increase in sales, the free copy in the box??

There was an offer when you registered the PS3 on PSN to get a free copy of Casino Royale.
I personally bought the PS3 with Blu-Ray playback in mind and am building up a nice little collection of the discs now.

I still don't like it how the PS3s fate is sealed with Blu-ray and vice-versa. If one fails, they both fail. In this case I think HD-DVD is more stable format than Blu-ray even though its losing the format war right now.

I bought mine mainly for that reason. i already have games machines, I wanted a Blu-Ray player.

No offence, but I meant people I know personally, like friends, relatives, friends' friends etc. Like I said, of course enthousiasts will buy PS3's and also use them for HD video. It's simply the least expensive player available and you get a games console with it. I just don't think there is enough market demand for HD optical media right now, and I'm not convinced yet that it will *ever* get as popular as e.g. DVD. At least not before networked content replaces discs altogether.
