PlayStation Network Registration Available Online
Posted by XanTium | 14-12-2006 20:09 EST

Sony just opened online registration for your Online ID's for the PlayStation Network. So you can now reserve your nickname so it won't be taken by the time Sony releases the PS3 in your region.

Check it out here[playstation.net]

well that stinks, what about those of us who want to reserve our names now because we can't get our hands on a console or don't plan on getting one until some time down the road.

no, and I think that's the point, they're letting people in those countries register now so that they can reserve their name so that someone in the US or Japan (who do have the consoles now) don't snag it first.

Meh, I've already had one since Nov. 18th.

TheBigLebowski

Fortunately I was able to stand in line for 53 hours..

However, I don't like this system.  Mainly because it fucks over the US people.  In all reality it IS just a username but to some people that can be a dealbreaker I suppose.
Sucks that Europe and all these other regions can go online and do this while those of you in America with no system yet can not do shit.  Because of the LACK of systems.   EVEN if you wanted to buy one, they are non existant.   Because of these fucking shortages I think North Americans should have the right to do the same..

Jeeze, that was typed sooo horribly, sorry guys.  I'ts 10:30 on X-mas and I'm a bit hungover : )

Makes a change to get something in Europe before the US. If you asked most people in the UK which they would prefer
Console available now or just a crappy username I know which they would pick.
Don't matter how long I stand inline it will still be Springtime before the machines even arrive. The US get everything ahead of Europe usually.
Why everything is not launched worldwide at one kick is beyond me.

Indeed, especially as the European video game market is bigger than North America's and Japan's.
