Constant Error Message

I’ve got a problem with a PSP.

Every time you try to play a UMD it comes up with an error so I’ve tried upgrading the firmware version from the memory stick but it still displays the same error.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

What is the message it's giving you? What version firmware do you have on your PSP?
Do any UMDs work? Could your PSP's laser be dying?

I thought it could be the laser too but that wouldn’t explain why it stopped it up dating the firmware from the flash card. I’ll find out the firmware and error code when I get home.

Have you tried formatting the memstick? backup first of course. or try with another memstick.  also, make sure your battery is fully charged before you attempt flash.

I’m good with pointing out the obvious because I miss it at times. I had the AC adaptor in at the time and I tried reformatting the stick a couple of times but I didn’t try a different memory stick.
