hey great links! im going to look into the $29.99 one more tonight and tomorrow. i really appreciate it. i have read about these usb ones, and a lot of people have had issues with them (pc freezes, crashes, etc). i will try to find some reviews on that specific one.
thanks very much!

I know you mentioned PCI, but USB has worked just fine for me.

I currently use an Adaptec GameBridge (AVC-1410) on my P4E computer (single core, 3.4 ghz CPU, 2 Ghz DDR2 RAM) and I've never had a problem.
The software sucks, but everything works. I use it to connect my xbox to the PC, but I've also used it for analog cable and transferring analog video to my PC. It's USB 2.0 and hasn't failed me yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I use Windows XP Professional.

I paid like $25 for my Game Bridge back in the day. Mine has a tv tuner and remote control. I was amazed to see the basic version without tv tuner is selling between $60 - $90 on ebay now.

I used to get the base version from justdeals (on ebay) for about $10 shipped a few years ago.

whats up guys. well, i finally ordered what i was looking for. ended up going with this part from tigerdirect.com. it had good reviews from tiger as well as other sites, and its vista ready. i have no need for a tv tuner or anything like that. (although in the future, after i build a new pc, i might consider one  tongue.gif ).  so for analog video capture, i think what i ordered will be fine.

id like to thank you all for your suggestions. take care!  smile.gif
