Overheating Omnibook
« on: August 27, 2004, 12:52:00 PM »

ok. i've googled for a while looking for a program that will turn the fan on in a hp omnibook 6000(laptop). i cannot find one. this laptop is running way too hot.starting to crash occasionally. (according to the hp user forums this is "normal", the heat anyways)the fan works. it's on during start up but then turns off once windows starts.it needs to run under windows 2000 pro. i know that there are some linux apps. but this laptop  has to run win 2000 pro. i have tried bios settings, even a hp diagnostic thing. no good. maybe some one knows of a program that can manually keep the fan running. battery usage is not a problem. thanks in advance
