I was curious to know, especially since you always read posts about people putting multiple devices on one IDE cable, if one can put three hard drives on one IDE cable?  

If it is possible, what modifications would I have to do to the IDE cable?

Any Ideas?

I think the maximum is 2 but if you only have one CD-Drive or rewriter then you can put your third one on there as a secondary slave.

The maximum devices you can have is 4 so it has to be 3 harddrives and CD drive or 2 harddrives and 2 cd drives. If you want any more you will probably have to buy some kind of IDE controller which lets you run more IDE devices.
