Are The Toshiba Regza Hdtvs Any Good?

I'm a real noob with tvs and I have been searching up and down through cnet, amazon, and other sites for reviews and highly rated tvs to replace my current room tv which is a SD 37" sony projection which has a better picture then our busted up lcd tatung.

But after searching high and low I came across this big yet affordable 42" 720p Toshiba LCD HDTV on amazon and wanted to know if this TV delivers the goods. BTW does anyone know why it doesn't mention a contrast ratio?

on newegg you can get a 42" 1080p Westinghouse for $1,099.99 or a 47" 1080p for $1399.99
