I just have 2 pieces of advice

1.  Get a warrentee for as long as you can.  Its not cheap fixing these things out of your own pocket.

2.  Plug the AC cord directly into the wall and not into the back of the cable box.  Avoid frequent turn ons.  Each time you turn on the television, the ballast zaps the lamp with high voltage.  Which in turn weakens the lamp and over time, it can crack it prematurely.

56" is a biig tv. I have a 52, and its huge! my advice is make sure you have room for whatever tv you buy
