What octane gas do they have in the rest of the world to be able to run the boost/compression that they do.  Because in other places the WRX STI uses the same engine that is in the regular WRXs here (well more or less), but is just way more tuned, but here in order to get those power numbers they need to increase displacement by 25%.

Usually at that level they are running a special mix that is almost like a combo between airplane fuel and auto fuel.  Or so I have heard.

Here's a neat fact for you.

Everyone new to Probetalk and MX6.com talk of the fabled KLZE engine. The japaneese "super engine" that churns out 200 hp and 180 ft/lbs. What they fail to mention is that those numbers are skewed.

The actual info is that it's rated for 197 hp on 101 octane fuel (Which i've heard is pump gas over there.) Also you need the ZE ECU to get the VRIS points to move as well if you hope to see those numbers.

Yah, we have a few 100-110 octane dealers around here, under the brand CAM2 and SUNOCO.

Good stuff, its all I ever run in my dirtbikes, but I don't think my car will benefit.
