7 service calls later, I still have connectivity problems. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I gave up and might end up switching to DSL since Bright House Networks can't get their act together.

Even at peak working conditions, I was doing 6750/512 . . . and costs me $44.95 per month.

I've got an interview next week for a Time Warner Cable contractor.  Their benefits aren't as good as Time Warner, but the pay scale blows them away (plus free cable and internet doesn't hurt).   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  Hope I get it, right now I work for my local Highway Department and it sucks major balls.

sicknasty
how long have you had your internet?
the main cause of my cable being shitty was because all the connectors were installed improperly (basically the connector could easily come off the cable)

the other thing was our modem was 6 years old

your speeds are almost identical to what i was running

I'd say since August of 2005.

When we got DirecTV we ended up running a direct line from the source to my modem. It's all new cables. All new connectors.

It used to be Adelphia (which is why it probably sucked so much).. but then Comcast took 'em over.

Regardless.. it sucks. It's expensive. And we may be going to DSL (which sucks because its like half as fast (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif))

In somewhat related news, I use Vonage and it's horrible. I have to disconnect from DSL to take a call or else the call is distorted. I guess that's probably because of my low 768/128 bandwidth. I was about to cancel Vonage, but I think I'll try upgrading the DSL first to see if that does the trick.

(IMG:http://www.speedtest.net/result/123417012.png) go college connection... it says that i'm in the 99th percentile of all connections tested

although this was a couple months ago.. now it's not giving me quite as good results... but it's still very impressive

^^^

I used to get about 50000 kb/s down and 30000 up on my college connection.  Then they got smart and started limiting bandwidth  sad.gif

I have Vonage. Works great. I think upgrading your DSL will definitely help.

If that is a computer that is directly connected to your modem, Comcast must suck in your area
