Dead Simple Ipod Video Converter?
« on: July 22, 2007, 11:57:00 PM »

My brother-in-law just got a 5G iPod and tech support duties have fallen upon me.

I'm looking for a really simple app to convert pretty much anything (mostly xvid, x264, etc) into Ipod-compatible video in as few steps as possible.

Setting him up with MeGUI or such is just not an option (he's a nice guy but that'd be beyond him).  I'm looking at Videora iPod Converter but have no experience with it.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.  Doesn't have to be freeware, but that's a plus.

Thanks.

Hi,

Any video converting software will do that converts whatever into MP4/Mpeg 4 or quicktime. Most of tehm do this. Most of them on the net that are easy and simple you have to pay for. Videora i think is good for this as my mate use's it. No idea how to get it though.....

Try Videora:

I have never used it, but it has good reviews. My brother has a video iPod. I will ask him what he uses later today.

I also used Videora a while back when I first got my 5G ipod.  This was before the ipod version was out, but I made due with the PSP version.

It is really simple to use and the quality is pretty good.

I've converted about 50 various tv shows that were .avi with Videora. Very simple, great quality, and never had and corruption or anything. I would definently recommend it.

CloneDvdMobile works well to go directly from a dvd to a mobile device.  Very simple to use but costs money. Linky...  it has a 21 day free trial.  Works pretty fast.
