One Year Ago Today...
« on: January 31, 2004, 09:31:00 PM »

It was one year ago today the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated while reentering the EarthÂ’s atmosphere. Columbia did not make it safely home. The actual date may fade from memory, but the loss of seven heroes will not be forgotten.

On board was a crew of seven: Colonel Rick Husband; Lt. Colonel Michael Anderson; Commander Laurel Clark; Captain David Brown; Commander William McCool; Dr. Kalpana Chawla; and Ilan Ramon, a Colonel in the Israeli Air Force.

The crews of Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia will live on in the warmest places in our heats and in our minds forever. God Speed Astronauts!

Columbia: 2/1/03, Challenger: 1/28/86, Apollo 1: 1/27/67
