Can't See My Xbox Under Local Xboxes
« on: November 13, 2003, 11:54:00 AM »

I'm keen to check this out, but i'm not seeing my xbox under local xboxes. My xbox is connected to my pc via hub.
When I launch bo-xlink, it hangs around for a while, and the pc client drops to the sys-tray, if I open the xlink back up, my xbox resets back to the evox dash.
Any advice would be great.

You've got to leave your XBox in a game where it sends out packet requests. This is best done with Halo in the "Searching for Games" screen lobby thing.

We've been getting a few more reports of people with MAC addresses that begin with 00 0D something or other. XLink actually ignores anything that doesn't start with 00 50 F2, which WAS the XBox licensed MAC address, but we're getting some weird MAC's these days. RC3 will get rid of the MAC filtering as it's causing more problems now.

Not sure if TD will release an interim build to fix this or not.

Also, Bo-XLink and XLink can't work together simultaneously. XLink is SUPPOSED to go to the systray when you run Bo-XLink, and it's supposed to throw your XBox back to the dashboard when you open up XLink again.

Just bought a Christmas bundle Xbox (with MM3 and Halo), and guess what, a 00:0d  sad.gif

I'll try to see how I sign up for early RC3

Thanks

If you want to try this out, for those people with the new MAC addresses...

Try that out. Might help you out...

dfunked,

That seems to work. Need to rush to get me train to work, but launched it anyway. Was able to see my xbox,  but could not try to play. Will do tonight and report here.

thanks a lot

Just a point about the 'locking up' of bo-xlink, I think it was because I was running my controller from port 3/4, and bo-xlink seems to only check for input from port 1/2?
