Hello I have a wireless router downstairs of my house and my xbox with my pc is on another floor. What I would like to do is setup my NIC card to be connected to the xbox so I could be on live....


Here are my settings in the wireless card

IP: 192.168.1.120
DNS: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DNS: 68.38.0.12
68.86.96.15

What i would like is somebody to help me out and tell me what the IP address, Default gateway and DNS should be for the NIC thats connected to the xbox.

And also whati should put in the xbox live settings's  IP addresss & gateway & dns.


also just in case how do i make sure ICS (inernet connection sharing) is working?

well i think i got the right settings now but now i get

"XBOX Live is not responding please try agian later"

These are my settings on the NIC connected to the xbox

IP Adresss: 192.168.0.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: Blank

DNS: Blank

on the xbox:
Ip address:192.168.0.5
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:192.168.0.1

DNS: 192.168.0.1 or Auto


Can someone this confirm this should work? because It still wont update...

Well I went ahead and update dashboard with the modem hooked up correctly then when i try to sign up for Live with ICS it just gives me:


Communication Error

"Could not connecto to XBOX Live. Check These possible options: "

and it lists a bunch of things to check which dont help me...

Set your xbox to use dhcp when going through ICS.

 By that do u mean try the DNS/IP on AUTO settings? Well I still get the same results...
