I'm in the same boat as Another_Enigma.  I've hooked into my brother's computer using TightVNC, and got both firewalls turned off, configured port forwarding on both routers, and can see both xbox's through XBC.  However, I just sit at the sign on screen with nothing.

After checking the XBC log, it says 'Unable to connect.  Connection timed out.'

Pissed me right off.  Spent a couple hours trying.

If XBConnect just simply sits at the login screen there is two reasons for this only.  One would be the server is currently down, second would be your software firewall not allowing it access to the internet.  It connects to a DNS server, so if your firewall will not let you resolve that DNS, you will not be able to get online.

As far as joining games and getting people to join, Be sure that your xbox is detected.  Goto Options, then general options and select FIND.  If you Xbox will not detec tthen, we have other issues, such as hwo your network is setup or again a firewall blocking your access.  Check out www.xbchelp.com
