I don't think so, the memory cards use 3.3v and USB is 5v. I may be wrong though you will not know until you try.

A voltage regulator can easily fix that, I guess I will try and see where the traces go on the board and possibly try to rig up a test device.

I was thinking of doing this also.

I remember reading a post some where, making it possible.
The only problem is the 5v. I guess you could use a regulator or just attach it to a 5v source.
All the other connections should be the same.
Just be sure to use a USB formatted for the Xbox 360.

Let me know how it goes.

hi. yes, memory card is a usb port but powered by 3.3, but this is not problem at all..

We have even 3 more ports on motherboard that are unused but afair it's software locked to see only three 'normal (like pads, pendrives etc)' usb devices.

regards

Hi, i use my memory ports for usb memory ports, my usb sticks even work off the 3.3v! Also you can use a usb hard drive aslong as it has an external power source, but unless you have a rgh xbox you'll be limited to 32gb of storage.
Cheers
Ian

Awesome man, could you possibly post some pics of your work?

I was originally going to do a hard wired USB port in conjunction with memory card port.
But with lessweightgofaster's post, I figured that was the most practical way of doing it.
So i did the same thing but used the memory card covers.
There is one downfall with this method as it doesn't work with all USB flash drives. The first one I tested didn't power on. Luckily i had another drive to test and work.
Works awesome!

With voltage sourced to a 5v line, these ports will run a wired controller. Only difference is the controller connected will not be able to turn the console on.
