This is going to be a crazy expensive solution for Hitachi drives.  RGH chip is approx $25, PCB is $75,  Liteon slim drive is $65'ish.  Total bill could be over $150 and that assumes you do the RGH work yourself. Might be simpler and cheaper to just sell your Hitachi unit and buy an older slim with Kamikazee'able dirve.  Just my thoughts....

I'd say go for an xK3y, much better option. No need to burn discs or get a donor Liteon drive so will be cheaper overall.

Your prices are quite excessive. For one thing, he doesn't need to buy a complete 16D4S, just chassis minus the pcb = $30 + shipping, he's already got the key = $0, LTU board = $68

Add to that the cost of DVD-DLs and the inevitable coasters from trying to get that 'perfect' burn and the fact that the Hitachi drive will just be going to waste unless he goes through the hassle of selling it. I just don't see the appeal of this replacement PCB at all...

Maybe YOU don't, but the suggestion to use an Xk3y doesn't help the OP.
I'm attempting to stay on topic.

Well it is a discussion forum after all, I was just suggesting other (better) options for the OP, his options are open seeing as he has his DVD key.

There are rumours that MS are working on a way to detect ISOmenu but the remote and WiFi dongle will not be affected.

The xK3y devs seem on top of it, see here: http://k3yforums.com...php?f=5&t=10188

then go the burn disk method.  good luck keeping a dual nand away from the ban hammer.

What would be the advantage of going the disc route vs ODDE?
