There are a few BIOSes that remove sound and parts of the image. x2 5035, for example.

as far as the x25035 bios, you can edit it to bypass the flubber scene and just show the X at startup.  i think you can also speed up the X splash so it shows for only 1-2seconds.
as far as the sound, not too sure
