Was XBMP your default dash or how did your xbox boot? EvolutionX possibly if slayers was installed.  1 option would be to get a copy of slayers autoinstaller disc and boot from it to reinstall missing software but can't be sure as based on what dashboard you have booting to.  If booting to EvolutionX as dash their is no way that your brother making changes to XBMP could affect booting.  Another possibility is that machine not booting up correctly has it flashing light from green to red as it restarts etc.  Can you provide more info as may help to find correct solution.

I think that was a mis type in the tutorial, the Xbox doesn't boot unless you have the cables plugged in.

Yes, it flashes.
But have you tried to FTP into the xbox?

I know it works with older X2 bioses as that was what i used when i wrote the tutorial, and i know that it works with the x2 5035 bios as i just tried that...

I never actually tried FTPing, but my boxes are softmodded, so I doubt it would get too far...

A softmodded xbox should use the virtual eeprom and a simple reboot should fix the problem.

The issue with softmods is that alot of people use old exploits and wont have a virtual eeprom. I can check if my softed box can be ftp:ed into with the cables out...

Works great with a softmodded xbox (1.6) too...

Exploit packaged used on it: Krayzie´s Ndure MA Installer

That's odd.  Doesn't work on mine (Krayzie's too) but perhaps that's down to my custom NKP with no virtual EEProm.  It just gets in my way, really.
