« on: April 10, 2005, 08:27:00 AM »

i just put in an clear blue case and i put on the dvd drive front cover. now the spindle should go on instead of the metal casing right?  does it have to line up directl of ver the cpinning thing or no?  should i put that small plastic disc in it also or should i leave that out?

is this what its supposed to look like?

you need to remove the plastic disc out from under the old metal one and put it in the new plastic one, thats what keeps the disc down

If it wasnt safe then why would they be making these things, and why would more than 200 of the guys here have the same thing in their xboxs?

of course its safe, the worst that could happen is a bit of dust getting it, which a few bursts with a can of air could fix in seconds.

hey, i wired the ide cable under the tray near the fan in back. when i load msdash and play music it plays good but when i play it through unleashx as the starting random song it sounds slower but im not sure yet. could t hat mean the ide isnt fully transfering data?

correction it is defintly playing slower
