I have a transparent blue ti-83+ sitting around and i was thinking about modding it with an EL panel backlight and I thought that since its transparent it would look cool with some blue leds.
i plan to have a switch for the backlight and one for the leds, but will the 4x AAA batteries be able to support 4 or so leds?

Well it depends on how much voltageur leds take and how much voltage the batteries will give ya. It will definately drain the battery a lot quicker tho

Its a bit like puttin leds in a gba, it will run the batteries down a lot faster

I expected a bigger drain, hence the switch so Id be able to stop the extra drain when I needed....but with 3.1v leds wired parallel i could make it work right? I think I could :P

He made a little switch on the back :)
Looks good but his was to bright, so pic a led with low mcd

But if i remember right it was a silver case the one i saw, but the switch was the same as yours.. :blink:

lol i wonder what the other kids would say when we have the lights off in class while using the projector and they see blue around the whole room LOL

wow and i thought i was a nerd.... HAHa.  I asked a kid what he got for christmas and he said some pencils and a TI-83 whatta nerd.
