I just can't stand how his films are ALL about religion. If you know the meaning of the word dramaturgy, and often think about it watching films you'd hate he's using the EXACT same dramaturgy in all his films. I've studied film for several years, and when I see these stuffs I get so irritated I can't find much amusement in the film. Like the usage of soundeffects. He always make them exciting, but often at completely wrong places. The sixth sense was very good, unlikeable, but a good film. But seeing the same dramaturgy in the rest of his films just eats me.
Wes Craven is actually a lot better. I really liked Scream (1), and the others were good as well, but they didn't meet up with Scream.
The besy dramaturgy-"builder" is IMO Tarantino.
