I did that as well.  Is the data folder supposed to sit in the root of the hard drive?

fsdata folder is on the root of my HDD and when I use USB it's there as well.

Using ftp with this dashboard, is it possible to send raw commands to execute games over the ftp? I'm not talking about transferring, talking about executing. We used to be able to do this on the original xbox.

For example, if you ftp to a modded original xbox w/ evox and type in site execute f:\games\gamedirectory\default.xbe it'll launch that game on the xbox, and close the ftp. For XBMC the raw command is site runxbe. I'm pretty sure the rest of the dashboards had it too.

I know this sounds weird, but I need this feature to make a 360 worthwhile to me...
