Title: Freestyle Xbox 360 Dash V1.0
Post by: axc97c on January 27, 2010, 09:27:00 AM
Freestyle XBOX 360 Dashboard
-------------------------

2010/01/25
axc97c
version 1.0

-------------------------

I decided that instead of focusing of file copying and browsing operations,
i would make the game launching and browsing as good as i could.

Features:-

FTP Support. (Slow at moment)
List XBOX 360, XBOX Live, Application and Emulators, and launch them.
Support for artwork for each title, including boxart, screenshots and icon.
Use pc to download artwork to xbox either via usb drive or ftp.
Browse games by genre.
Favourite games support.
Fullscreen screenshot viewer.
Fully skinable.
Uses indexer to allow you to download artwork, and edit the metadata with
each game.
Customizable overscan so you can set the dash to display all its information
even when other launchers cant.
Source code released too.

When first launching, you will be asked if you want the dashboard data
storing on the usb drive or xbox hdd. If you choose usb, you can run the
indexer with the drive connected to a pc, or via ftp while its still
connected to the xbox. If you use the internal xbox drive, you can still
run the indexer on the xbox via ftp.

The ftp server is quickly thrown together and needs a fair bit of work
still but it works great for copying small stuff to the xbox. I would
suggest launching xexmenu for now to copy games via ftp. It is mainly
included to allow the indexer to be run without having to disconnect the
usb drive every time you add a new game.

Artwork wise, i have hosted all the icons i have available, so if any are
missing let me know which. For the boxart and screenshots, the indexer
uses the xbox marketplace for most content. Games that arent listed use
an alternate url for the main xbox site, but these need to be added manually
so some may be missing. The file for this is automatically updated so
if games have no info you can either wait for me to add them to the list or
edit the altgames.xml file yourself.

When the dash first scans your content, it takes a while as it extracts any
icons etc it finds. This is all cached though so subsequent launches of the
dashboard are quick.

The first run of the indexer will take quite some time, as it has got a lot
of artwork to get, so please be patient with it.

Thanks to dstruktiv for the XBLA launching code and network enable code.

Thanks to all feedback from 360 dashit indexer users, as this is what that
project has turned into.

Very nice! Its weird but very cool to see "homebrew" and "emulators" in the nxe dash   biggrin.gif

Look forward to future updates!

its not the nxe dash, i just used several of the skin elements directly out the nand image so that it looks very similar.

Very nice, now you'd "only" have to add a videoplayer and a filebrowser and it would be perfect.
Is there a way we can run a xex after boot, without the nxe, yet ?

Hello

Could probably do a player that plays wmvs pretty easily, but would love to be able to port mplayer to it or similar.

File browser was planned but im off on holiday friday so wanted to get this out before then. It sould be easy enough to write, but for now you can quickly launch xexmenu for that sort of thing.

So out of curiosity, is this able to launch NXE-installed games made into Games on Demand, using NXE2GOD, or only extracted isos?
Title: Freestyle Xbox 360 Dash V1.0
Post by: axc97c on January 27, 2010, 11:27:00 AM
Just extracted ISOs and XBLA stuff at the moment, i dont have any games on demand ones to test. Will look at creating a couple tomorrow and see what i can get working. From what i can see, they should work fine, just need to add support to the content scanner for em.

support for preview.wmv for each game would be also cool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
i'd like to autoboot this on my console, this is all i need on my xbox360.
any way of autoboot??

Just tried this, it's really good!
Would like an option for Freestyle to go straight to the games menu when you load it, like XexMenu.

Had a look at the GOD files, and they cant be launched in any way that i already know, so i can only add support for these when someone works out how to launch em from your own xdk code.

Currently open XBLA containers using the following code:

CODE

/ returns 0 on success, creates symbolic link on it's own to the new szDrive
u32 mountCon(CHAR* szDrive, CHAR* szDevice, CHAR* szPath)
{
   u32 ret;
   CHAR szMountPath[MAX_PATH];
   if(XamContentOpenFile == 0)
   {
      ret = resolveFunct("xam.xex", XAMCONTENTOPENFILE_ORD);
      XamContentOpenFile = (u32 (__cdecl *)(u32, char*, char*,u32,u32,u32,u32*))ret;
      if(XamContentOpenFile == 0)
return ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE; // well, invalid handle good enough for me...
   }
   sprintf_s(szMountPath,MAX_PATH,"\\??\\%s\\%s",szDevice,szPath);
   return XamContentOpenFile(0xFE, szDrive, szMountPath, 0x4000003,0,0,0);
}

I would assube that the 0xFE and 0X4000003 are some sort of open flags that could be modified to make god files work, but i have no documentation of this so dont know.

Uploaded version 1.02, has much faster ftp and cooler gpu usage.

Reason for slow ftp / high gpu temp was there was no frame rate limit on the program, so sat running at 400+ fps with 100% cpu/gpu usage. Capped to 60fps, and now ftp is much better.

Regarding preview video files, do you know of any good sources of file that could be used?

I have been autobooting it using a cd-rom with the quickboot xex and config file on.

Ive added FreestyleDash.iso to the mediafire account which will boot the dash from the Freestyle dir on the usb dir
(USB:\Freestyle\FreestyleDash.xex) (Not tested this though, so it may not work)

Within the xbox dash, you can set it to auto run whats on the disk. So when your xbox turns on, it loads straight into the freestyle dash.

Like the idea of going straight to the games menu, i will get it on the todo list.

Nice job, axc. This is the kind of stuff I really want to do. I'm a bit of a coding newbie (CS major, so far have had 1 class with C++; it was nothing major), but I love developing. It really gets my brain going. I'm starting to tinker with 360 dev now, so this kind of stuff excites me as to what can be done.

I applaud you and your work. I look forward to future releases.  pop.gif

What a perfect interface with perfect sections!

Someone should make a all in one tutorial for this one:

-installing
-updating
-ftp transfer
-installing game
-installing xbla game
-installing homebrew

Really a great dashboard!!! My compliments!
And i like very much the FSDIndexer and the possibility to update the games' info!!!!!
Only i don't understand how to make Freestyle get the emulator and homebrew application...
may they stay in some directory? or it "catch" only the live versions?

Only question is what folder(s) are scanned for the Homebrew tab?. Would be good if it was the same as Xexmenu and used Applications.

FTP works fine. Set an IP in the NXE dash, as gateway use your PC's IP.
That easy.

Warning
for those who downloaded version 1.01 !
Update to 1.02 especially if you have a hot xenon, because 1.01 has 100% CPU/GPU usage.
(thought ill point that out again, just in case...)

Sweet, nxe installed game/games on demand support is a must have! Even better if it actually ripped like nxe, maybe with a nxe2god autopatching option.. Cpu and gpu temps on the main screen would be useful..

Oh man im geeking out!

Oh also a original blade style dash skin would be cool

Thanks so much!!

I wouldnt be surprised to see the ftp code not working, it was thrown together very quickly (about 3 hours) and has only been tested using flash fxp and the indexer. Some ftp clients seem to use the CDUP command which i forgot to implement. Only passive mode works at the moment, couldnt get active to connect properly. There is no login or password required either which is something that needs adding.

If anyone fancies spending some time on the ftp code making it nice its all very separate to the rest of the dash code in a single c++ file (FTPServerConn.cpp), please let me know, and i wont work on it myself.

Regarding missing game info, in the indexer folder there is an xml file with missing info. I think we need some sort of publicly accessable database to create and edit this file as more missing data is discovered.

For now if you add your stuff in this file and rescan that game it will be added to the content index.

Ive also found a bug regarding the dash saving the content index file when adding new content to the xbox. It sometimes crashes half way through saving.

Ive not tracked down why this is but for the moment if this happens use the following workaround:

On main menu press start.
Reset the data
Connect with indexer and let it scan all games
save
reboot

this should reset your content data file, but will not re-download all the images etc.

No source code to 1.01, as it was just a skin update, and the 100% gpu/ftp speed fix was adding a Sleep(15) in CMyApp::Render() before the return

Just a note, im on holiday for a 10 days from friday evening, so any urgent fixes let me know before then. (Or can fix using the source provided).

THIS..IS..MADNESS! Really love it, my mind was SO blown away by the FSDindexer! biggrin.gif

Anyway, as far as the XBLA games go. in either usb or hdd1, you will find the folder fsdata. If you look inside it, you will find config.xml. You can find the stuff you need there wink.gif

Do games have to be in a live container, or do they have to be unpacked btw?

They need to be organized in the same way the they would for the ms dash.

\hdd1\Content\0000000000000000\TITLEID\00004000\FILE

I used ftp to download them, my Xbox360 was recognized but saved the files on my PC.
So, where do I've to place the files I downloaded via FSD Indexer on my USB HDD?

Edit: Everything is a .txt-file, I see. - Even my screenshots. - Is that correct?

Looks great!! , lots of potential

Had a freeze wile doing the following:
With no games in the menu i pressed details and then genres, then the screen froze(fan went faster) and then i could only turn the console off with the powerbutton

Will test more if you get it to launch from the games menu.

p.s. did not find games on the standard 20 GB hd under /games/
(This is by design?)

I'm sorry for asking a functionally retarded question but can I get some help getting this installed on my set up?

Currently working with a 160gb HD on my xbox and a 500GB external HDD.
I've got xexmenu and tons of DLC installed on my 160 hdd on the xbox and I run all my full size games from the external HDD.

I've not had any problems figuring out FTP on xex menu and I'm used to dealing with the whole CODE9999 folder that goes into content folder etc.

This dash seems to be packaged a little differently.

Basically what I want to do is this:

1. Have this dash show up as a game demo just like xexmenu does in reg NXE
2. Have this dash index all my dlc and full size games
3. Have this dash load full games from external and xbla from actual xbox HDD

Is all the above possible and if so can someone please help?  Sorry for being a noob!

I've to correct my posting above:

On my USB HDD, I got a folder called "fsmedia/artwork", there are my downloaded covers via ftp.
The problem ist, that they won't get shown for me with FreeStyle.
What's cause of this?

Light-years ahead of the opposition.

Highly recommended, cannot wait to see how this ends up.

I want this on there, but confused, I have to have NXE on there also?? this isn't a fully bootable dash? (I am used to xbox 1 lingo)

Any help for this n00b would be appreciated.

I tried it via Xbox HDD for now, that's working.

There seems to be a bug, it won't show the boxarts/covers/infos I got on my USB HDD.

its not the nxe dash, i just used several of the skin elements directly out the nand image so that it looks very similar.

Personally i wouldnt make it look anything like the nxe dash.. i would create something totally new. A nice new custom look. Just like xbmc... untill they came out with the xbox 360 skin.. but the rest are nice...

I just don't know what's up there, but I think I'm NOT doing anything wrong.

Sadly it's an evil bug, if it is one.
Except this one, FreeStyle is awesome; I hope it's fixable.

Edit: You've manually to klick on "Save Content XML" after downloading the files. - Then, it's working.

1. i think we need a package to put in \Content for this, personally i'm waiting for a disc-less autoboot solution.
2. define "index" - the included indexer will grab all the artwork and stuff, i just used it and it looks great.
3. put them where they go (dlc/xbla in \Content; extracted full games in \Games) and it'll see them fine.

the covers wouldn't load for me until i rebooted the 360 from the Indexer app, though it only reloaded the skin and not the 360. in either case, working fine after that.

-

also, one quick suggestion: perhaps change the default applications path from \apps to \Applications to match both the other paths and XeXMenu's defaults.

This looks like the case in xexmenu 1.0 aswell, as i get higher temp readings there than in GOW2 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)  (havent tried xexmenu1.1 yet)

PS: Anyone know if there is a tool for extracting and ftpìng iso`s directly to dash? (Like Qwix or xiso for xb1)

Awesome work...  Cleanest looking dash by a mile.  It'll be unbeatable if/when a file browser/copyDVD function is implemented and having the scraper inbuilt into the dashboard.

Unbelievably great first release, I hope to see more of it in the future, keep up the good work.

1. as far as i know the default dash that boots can't be replaced (yet), but earlier in this thread there were instructions on using an .iso to autoboot the .xex from a drive, which should get you straight to Freestyle from the power button.
2. copy it somewhere and run it.

having trouble with the way the folders are set up.

i have it like this

\Games\     in the games folder I have a seperate folder for every game like

usb0:\Games\Army of Two\  and in the army of two folder the files are present. But the program doesnt see any game available.

when i try the same thing on Xexmenu, it shows the games fine.

also for XBLA i have it set up like this

usb0:\Content\

then i put the folder with the XBLA game in it but it doesn't show either. I'm probably doing something wrong.

Could you make 100% CPU/GPU usage an option and with temperatures shown like in XexMenu?

This would be very useful for testing different cooling mods and RRoD repairs.

I'm having some problems with the file "USB:\fsdata\content.xml" generated by FSDIndexer.

I've modified the .exe to connect to "www.xbox.com/es-ES" instead of "www.xbox.com/en-US" (to get the description of the games in spanish).

The games files (.txt) created in "FSDIndexer\cache\gameinfo" are correct (I can read characters like "ó", "á", "ñ", ":", "/", etc)

I don't know if this can be fixed. Maybe if the .xml will be generated in <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> instead of
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>  uhh.gif

Othewise, if I change a character into the "USB:\fsdata\content.xml" (ex. changing a "o" to "ó") the dashboard will show a square instead of the real character. Maybe the "xarialuni.ttf" doesn't have this characters?

Help me, please.

Thank you in advance.

Cant seem to get this to work correctly

if i use it and select my usb hdd i flash's real fast nothign listed
if i use it in my thumb drive select usb it does some bars stuff and lists what xbla game i have and others
if i select hdd i get xbla games but nothing on usb hdd lists
all other dashs seem to work fine not sure what if anything im doing wrong

hence ftp only works when loaded from thumb drive not sure whats going on

shrugs not understanding this usb hdd issue
looks as if it starts to scan the hdd for content etc but instantly stops looking and goes to dash then nothing listed and since there is nothign listed I guess the ftp wont work getting no dashboard indexing file found

figured it out i think changed added <path>usb1:\Games\</path>
now all is fine i think running indexer now

to get the images you need the files from the "original xex packet". because there are some apps you need to run on you PC to get SS and images.

if i use it in my thumb drive select usb it does some bars stuff and lists what xbla game i have and others
if i select hdd i get xbla games but nothing on usb hdd lists
all other dashs seem to work fine not sure what if anything im doing wrong

hence ftp only works when loaded from thumb drive not sure whats going on

shrugs not understanding this usb hdd issue
looks as if it starts to scan the hdd for content etc but instantly stops looking and goes to dash then nothing listed and since there is nothign listed I guess the ftp wont work getting no dashboard indexing file found

figured it out i think changed added <path>usb1:\Games\</path>
now all is fine i think running indexer now

found out it was not the config it was i needed to reboot my 360 withotu both in to get the usb hdd to work correctly

either case tried to reroute the content folder to where my xbla games are held wont work for me
have them in content in in 360dashit folder so i added this <path>usb0:\360dashit\Content\</path> but no go nothing list

I wish Microsoft would do somthing like this there placement of items within the current dashboard just plan CRAP

you would think they would have a main menu items more like is to make this easy to fine but NO you have to go into MY XBOX then to a crappy menu system

Games
   -- Installed
            - Under here it goes into that coverflow like view of the game front covers
   -- GOD
   -- XBLA
   -- Indy
   - RECENT GAME1
   - RECENT GAME2
    etc

All these games work fine for me.

There is , a list of blacklisted games, which contains a version of Shadow Complex (the free complete trial glitch) that will cause this particular version not to show up under your dashboard's arcade game list. This version will not run if launched by Freestyle. Although i don't think you have all these "older" versions of the games? Do they all appear/launch fine from nxe dashboard? They are all containers right? and not extracted?

@axc97c :   I first tried your app last night, i used my usb keyboard to setup the ip address of this jtag console i'm setting up for a friend, and left the usb keyboard plugged in.  I was then launching Freestyle from Xexmenu 1.1, and for the life of me it just kept crashing and crashing. Sometimes after 3 seconds, sometimes after 2 minutes, but it would always hang. I didn't notice at first , so FDSindexer just kept downloading , and trying to send by ftp without success , since Freestyle was frozen. After many tries , i was only successful indexing but a few games at a time, and didn't want to go through all the collection by hand. So i tried using xexmenu has the ftp server, so that it could transfer all the artwork without crashing, and it did , but i then noticed the screenshot and boxart counts were not set, neither was the description, since obvisouly Freestyle must be returning those values to the indexer. So there i was with all the artwork on my hdd, but still not indexed.

Until i decided to remove all peripherals from my 360, ( at that point i actually thought it was a usb hdd that was connected) pulling the plug i noticed it was my kb.   So , overall, i was always booting the 360 with the kb, launching xexmenu , then freestyle, and that crashed it everytime. So that should be looked into. With the kb unplugged,  i was able to gather all the artwork without a hitch.

The reason i told you my life just now , is for suggestions. Since the only way to save the content.xml is to be connected via ftp, when freestyle crashed, i kept losing my progress, so maybe it should save every 5 games, or it could be saved locally. Maybe, actually, all the artwork could be saved locally , and ftp'ed all at once when the download is done, with the option to keep locally? When i succeeded to transfer all the artwork with indexer, i exited and clicked save and rebooted freestyle while exiting ,yet my artwork was not shown. So i tried one last time , and this time it seemed to only scan my hdd and recreated the content.xml , that i then saved using the save button , instead of saving while quitting , and then it worked. Maybe a "scan hdd" function could be usefull, to avoid redownloading all artwork if problems occured during indexing..

I know it doesn't support file managing yet, but maybe eventually a simple "Copy to hdd" function could be added for xbla titles, this way, people could place their collection on dvds , and either launch from them , or copy them to hdd..

Great first release, the future is looking bright.

But great first release!

2.) Like the most Homebrew softwares out now, your homebrew is without an exit button, like "Back to Original Dashboard"  blink.gif

Nice Work !!! Well done.  love.gif

With this open source code great things will be done in a few weeks.

But a Media Player is not that easy how some people think it is. Maybe in a few months someone will come out showing a player but as we see, this dashboard consumes 100% of GPU oO ( First version ) Is not a simple task to make 3 cores working on a Hidef player so lets be pacient on that.  tongue.gif

The problem I had, that boxarts/screenshots/infos won't get shown was caused by a game I had on my HDD.
After I deleted it, everything worked well.
The FSDIndexer downloaded Screenshots for it, but after there were nowhere.
The Game which caused the problems is: "James Cameron's Avatar, The Game"
Maybe it's fixable.

Thanks axc97, great job!

I followed your interest in the Kiosk thread and new something like this would come about.

Anyway, suggestion for this project....hopefully you get some coders to help out (I don't know enough about C++,C# to help at the moment, but could do PC side app with VB if needed for indexing), I hope contributing coders will all work together and releases can be made by axc97.  Would be a shame to have 10 versions of this floating around.

Lastly to the users. I'm sure there are many things to add/change, but please be respectful and don't suggest ridiculous things.  When reporting bugs you should provide as much detail as possible to help remidy the problem.

Excellent Work,

If you've updated your dash using MW2 you can't run homebrew on that console.

@ axc97c - love the dash, its more what you expect from a custom box ie not having too look for the meat & patatas

Well I've been thinking this over and I'm wondering if I'm planning to do this right.

I'm going to put the Freestyle Dash folders on a USB drive with my XBLA/DLC and Games.  I'm going to use Quickboot to create a shortcut for Freestyle and then upload that to my xbox HDD via FTP into the Content/000... folder.

Once, I've done all that my next question is:

To run the indexer, do I need the USB drive with my XBLA/DLC and games attached to the PC that I run the indexer on or do I need the USB drive hooked up to my XBOX?

Appreciate any help that can be offered.

It's not working, my Xbox is booting back to NXE, if I klick it in the Games Library of the NXE.

I created a shortcut for Freestyle Dash on my USB HDD of the folder "usb:/Applications/Freestyle Dash/default.xex"

Don't know, why it's not working properly.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but that runXex command prompt tool is extremely useful.

We need to code up an external program that can take a Visual Studio compiled xex upon build and run it through a command prompt program that automatically uploads it to a debug folder on your hdd1 or usb0 and then executes it.

Then when you're done testing and assuming the program didn't lock your box, you can hit the guide button and hit "Play game on Disc" which will return you to your freestyle dash to do it again.

Good work!

I ended up getting this running with no problems.  I was over complicating the installation process.  Used quickboot to make a container so I could load it from game demo's off an external USB.

In any event, it looks friggin fantastic.  Ax, when I saw in another thread you were going to start working on something like this, I thought to myself "hell yeah!!!"

Worth the wait and I'm stoked to see what you have in store for us.  Keep up the solid work!

I noticed that happening, but i have no idea why. Got a feeling that the left an old icon in the nxeart and im using the wrong one. who knows.

We need some sort of community driven and edited source solution for this, so people can be working on translations, bits of the source, but most importantly creating a comprehensive altcontent.xml file that covers every game that doesnt get info automatically .

Just a few more that need adding....

army of two
enchanted arms
fifa 08
madden 06
pes 08
quake 2
xman

And im sure there are many more.

Adam

EDIT: Had a quick look, the package icon on the nxeart is the 4 icon, and not the modern warfare 2 one. The indexer needs updating so we can add alternate icons in altcontent.xml, so can get the correct one automatically.

v1.03   Fixed content saving bug in dash
   XML saving in dash quicker
Added usb0:\applications and hdd1:\application paths. Please delete your config.xml for these
to be added to existing installs. (The one in fsdata not base)

Should be in the usual places when ther correct people are awake and have chance to upload it.

heres a collection of icons, if a game has the wrong icon mw2 for example all you have to do is right click on the mw2 icon listed here  http://www.digitalreality.co.nz/xbox360/?p=135 and save it, then go to your artwork folder and find the correct title id and replace the cod4 icon with the mw2 icon.

I have the Indexer on my PC and I hook up the USB drive to my PC.

I run the indexer and select USB, it detects all the XBLA/DLC and Games on my USB and pulls down all the data for them but then creates the config.xml and cache folders in the folder that the index exe is located in on my PC.

1.  Is there a proper folder on the USB that config.xml, altconfig.xml, and the cache folder belong it so that the freestyle dash can see this data?

2.  Is there some place I can put the indexer on the USB drive so the next time I run it, it automatically generates/edits these files in the correct location?

Edit: I assume these files just get copy/pasted into the fsdata folder but I'm just looking for confirmation.  Thanks in advance!

I am losing my mind with this.

admittedly I am not the best with this stuff yet but I have gotten pretty far on my own IMO.

I am fully JTAGged and playing games no problem, even loaded all the DLC for my music games.  What I cannot get to work though is this

I cannot get fsdindexer to find my games on my USB harddrive??  All it finds when I connect via FTP is itself and Hexic.  If I try to choose USB as my XBOX drive I get "No dashboard index file found on USB drive on xbox, please ensure you are running the dashboard"  and if I choose HDD all it finds are the above mentioned Hexic and Freestyle.

Is there something I need to add to my USB drive to make it recognized here??  I am currently running everything through containers made with quickboot but would like to play with some of the dashboards you guys are making!!

Thanks

DOWNLOAD daemon tools and xbox backup creator.

mount ISO game with daemon, then open xbox backup creator, and choose
game drive

go to "image browser"

and extract to HDD

then copy your game

after that open FSindexer and set it up to search where u have the game
don't forget to connect USB-HDD or so to xbox360

You don't need daemon tools. Go to image browser. Press File > Open Image...

Hey everyone,

I posted a theme on spiffy360.com that is based off the Aquatica XUI example.   I am not sure if it is legal or not, so let me know if it's not, but it gives Freestyle Dash some animation, and transition effects.  Nice breath of fresh air.

The art was taken from the sample source and from the original theme that came with Freestyle Dash (so credit for that goes to them).

Check it out...

I am running freestyle from my internal HDD.  I have some arcade games on it and they work fine and it can see them as well as a couple xbox 360 games.  It sees them and launches them fine.  I ran the program on my computer to build up the descriptions and images over FTP.  It connected and downlaoded everything fine.  It put the folder on the foot of my xbox HDD.  Should freestyle at this point automatically see that data and populate the images and descriptions?  If so, it isn't working at all for me.  Only the arcade icons show, but nothing else is populated.  Do i need to move the fsdata folder of whatever it's called somewhere in particular?  Any help will be appreciated.

Make sure to hit the "Save Content XML" button after the indexer finishes smile.gif

I did that as well.  Is the data folder supposed to sit in the root of the hard drive?

fsdata folder is on the root of my HDD and when I use USB it's there as well.

Using ftp with this dashboard, is it possible to send raw commands to execute games over the ftp? I'm not talking about transferring, talking about executing. We used to be able to do this on the original xbox.

For example, if you ftp to a modded original xbox w/ evox and type in site execute f:\games\gamedirectory\default.xbe it'll launch that game on the xbox, and close the ftp. For XBMC the raw command is site runxbe. I'm pretty sure the rest of the dashboards had it too.

I know this sounds weird, but I need this feature to make a 360 worthwhile to me...
