I have the same problem...I'll bet if you hook it up to your PC directly using a crossover cable it will work just fine. It did for me...It appears to be a Belkin Router issue, lets see how many years it takes Belkin to put out a patch...in the meantime I think I'm going to get rid of mine on eBay, and get a Linksys. Belkin Routers = Nothing but trouble. I have the Pre-N Router and Card, and it loses it's wireless connection at least once a week, and I have to restart the router. I liked it when I got it, but I'm a little sick of the problems, and no updated firmware or drivers from Belkin in a looooong time.

Did any of you join a domain during the installation of MCE 2005?

If so, that is what is keeping your xbox from connecting to MCE.

See this post and the following:

I can't say that we're 100% sure we understand exactly what the problem is
but we've made significant progress and think we've got a workaround. In
order to isolate this I'd like Edmund and EDMUND ONLY to try the
following...assuming it works (it should) then let's expand and have other
do this.

1) At a command prompt, run: "regsvr32 %windir%\system32\rsaenh.dll"
2) Reboot
3) Attempt to connect to Xbox 360

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but the laptop I'm having issues with IS a work laptop on a different domain than my other laptop that works just fine with Media Connect.

Am I completely S.O.L?

@Chodite,
When your pc/laptop is added to a domain, fast user switching is disabled and the welcome screen replaced with the CTRL-ALT-DEL message. This makes it impossible for the xbox to connect since its using a regular terminal server connection to the pc. You can verify this by going to the control panel, and choose users. If it pops up with the advanced screen (ie, MMC, the tree on the left with users and groups), you're out of luck. If it comes up with the wizard-like screen that allows you to change the way users log on, you should try and enable the welcome screen and fast user switching.

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but these options are represented by services. I don't know what would happen if you would manually start these services while your pc is member of a domain.

I think the other pc your talking about is not a member of domain, but of a workgroup. That's why its working.

I think you hit it right on the head.  Damn.
At least I know not to waste anymore time with it!

Thanks.

The OP said Belkin Router, and they are indeed using a Belkin Card Nic or Wireless Card, I'm pointing my blame to crappy drivers from Belkin...I swapped my Belkin Pre-N Card and Router for the new Netgear Pre-N version and it works sweet - Wireless HD over the air with no drop outs...You MUST have Pre-N to do this, I would actually recommend the new Netgear Router that Just came out - ~220mps Wireless - freaking WOW!!! Speedbooster sucks BTW (for HD), I couldn't get a reliable HD signal from 15 feet away.
