Announcing.. Mcx360 V0.01
« on: January 11, 2006, 03:18:00 PM »

I am developing a pretty intense app for the xbox360 via the Media Center.  If you have mce working on your xbox give this a shot, I think you'll like it..  Any feedback would be great, email me (it's in the readme) or post here.  If you want to use your dvd remote, use the numbers that correspond to the letters like txting with your cell phone, if the letter is on the same key wait a sec and it'll jump to the next space..

It's been brought to my attention that for some reason certain xboxes aren't setting focus on page load.  I am working on a fix and will update it serverside asap and post here when it's fixed.

Can't wait to try this out !
I have two 360's and I'll try it out tonight when I get home and let you know if the page focus issue happens on either 360 smile.gif

I just tried it on both my 360's .. Same result on each.
The page loads up fine but nothing can be selected.
I brought up the on-screen keyboard and typed in an address but couldn't get it to work.

This whole concept seems rather simple though if a way could be figured out to allow selecting of links from a web page.
The one could simply create an html file on their pc with all the links, load that page up in MCE and go from there smile.gif

I'm actually using media center buttons instead of hyperlinks , this WILL work as soon as  I fix the focus issue.  It actually works on some machines which is really weird,  I wonder if the difference lies within the pc or the xbox

Since all 360's "are created equal" by guess would be the PC.

As stated in the title, where is the Media Center program directory located? I'd like to try this app out.

EDIT:  I think I found it \WINDOWS\ehome
However, when I got to More Programs I don't have the MCX360 icon.  Care to shed some light on this?

Thx, but unless I'm missed something, that doesn't explain why nothing shows up in 'More Programs'.  Any ideas?

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs

Cant get your MCX360 to work.

I only have me the media remote, and I can bring up the input screen with Y but after that nothing happens. Cant press anything.

Ok, it shows up now, had to drop the file in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs.  However, I can't do anything on the Surf The Web screen.  Do you have to have the remote for this to work?  I don't have one.  If that's the case, will it be possible to use this app w/o the remote in the future?

Sorry for the lack of updates.  This is most definatley a pc difference as shown above (all xbox360's equal etc.. )  anyway..  I'm working on a fix now and we'll see what happens..  I'm also working on the main code for the app thus the slow action in getting this fixed, and I was at a trade show this weekend  eh..  nevermind haha.. I'll update when I can..

Here's some more info on MCEBrowser...

It does allow tabbing and following links and it pulls in your favorites list ("Location") minus directory structure.

It does NOT support tabbing to textboxes or buttons.  I'm going to try to figure out why...
With out that you can NOT type in data, at least I think that is why.
