Yet Another Live And Xbr Question (sorry)

If you accept the update it will likely kill your homebrew and you will never be able to run homebrew again.

I am pretty sure XBR uses virtual fuses which means blow away, we'll make more.  Anyway... I don't recomend you trying it but would love to hear what happens

Yeah I didn't wanna risk removing that resistor. Problem is, the dash/kernal version hasn't changed to what it was before the update. But good thing is I can connect now.

You've probably just updated Avatar information. Was it there before you updated?

I can bet he was missing avatars, it's just nice to know it see's he has 8955 and only updates the rest of the content he was missing without killing the homebrew.

I'm not too sure about that, as I said I only used this for playing games from HDD. But it prompted me to install a update and gave that 128mb warning.

Ah - it would be the Avatar data then. 128MB is the amount it needs to download and extract the data. I would confidently say that prior to the update, you didn't have any avatars (just a silhouette) and when you signed in you got a message that you needed to connect to live to update some information on your Profile.

Well thats a relief, now I think about it I do remember having no avatar.
Thanks

If it's any more comfort, I downloaded the official 8955 + Avatars update from Microsoft and applied it to my FreeBoot machine - all it did was install the Avatar data smile.gif
