Getting Banned For Using Xbox Power Source
« on: February 03, 2020, 01:31:00 PM »

Hi,
I was just wondering that because iv been hearing that you get tagged/logged if you use the xbox as a power source when flashing, that if i used another xbox to power the drive whilst flashing, whether it would flag me or the other xbox.

Thank you

I don't think this was ever proven - probably just a rumor.

this was found in NXE update

SataCdRomInitialize ---> SataChannelDetectDevice if the result of this check = 0 then it branchs to a new funtion

basically if you flashed your console using the xbox as a power source you're tagged

Everwhere iv been looking its been saying its better to use a different power source to avoid this so i was wondering whether i could avoid it this way coz i dont have a ck3 kit yet

even before the NXE update u were tagged for using the console as a PSU.  All the NXE changed is that now its a counter as it counts everytime you use it as a PSU.

I'm not worrying about it as MS has had 4 years to ban people because of this but never did.

i dont really think they CAN ban you for this as all it proves is that your DVD drive didnt respond, this copuld also happen if it was broken for some reason other than opening the 360
