That`s actually quite smart! Can`t I get 3,3V from the DVD mobo in the same way? stick a pin through a wire and put in the hole for 3,3V on the mobo?

Well yes, that`s what I meant. You can get 3,3V by soldering a wire to the mobo, right? So why not use a wire and a pin?

be carefull not to short out the pin on anything
put pin through first the turn on power
you could put pin throug orange  motherboard wire thats what I did till I made it more permanant

yes there are lots of wires coming out  of the power supply the orange one will lead to the motherboard connector 3.3 volts if you tap into this switch on computer and check with voltmeter just to make sure you have 3.3 volt and black wire as you probably know is the other one -

now the molex cable that goes to your hard drive dvd rom contains black wire
yellow wire red wire
orange wire comes directly out of power supply and goes to your motherboard 24 pin plug
the orange and blue lights on the connectivity kit are
blue light normal mode this is what you need for samsung -lite-on -benq
orange light debug mode ,use this for hitachi drives ver 59 and below
to get into mode b

so if you have hitachi drive boot up into windows pree button to orange windows will detect you drive go into mode b use firmware toolbox to dump and flash your drive

I'm lost on this one. My computer has a on board SATA port which i flash my Hitachi drive. Then i added a Sata card that I Flash my Samsung and Benq Drives. I also have the DVD drive powering kit. My computer doesnt have a Serial port.

What do you have that pin hooked up to?

Do i need to buy anything else to dump the key?

This set up is only for getting the key of the Lite-on drive
you need a rs232 adaptor and the wire with the pin is connected to the tx wire that goes to the rs232
this works verry good done quite a few now really easy no sodering
I would be very suprised if you computer did not have serial port
