So its not true that the Elite will give you 1080p while the Pro will only give you 1080i?
originally the pro only supported 1080i. a firmware revision a year or so ago (which will be a required installation to play any recent games or connect to live) introduced the ability to output at 1080p. the elite came out after this was released already, and as such just had the firmware revision preinstalled out of the box.

hmmm.... thats a good point. I would hate to have to buy a second HD later. But is it really worth the extra 100 bucks or should I just pick up the new 360 Arcade version? From what I have read it has HDMI and then I could just get the bigger hard drive separate.
i personally think its worth it. don't forget how much the harddrive is by itself. also i'm not sure what the arcade pack comes with for accessories. the core pack came with a wired controller, no hd video cables, no ethernet cable (the pro actually came with a VERY nice cable, long and well insulated, which is why i mention it), no xbl headset, and as such, you should verify how much of that has changed with the arcade pack.
