Bricked (?) My First Dvd Drive Today
« on: July 22, 2007, 10:06:00 PM »

So i've done about 100-120 of these so far, and oddly, this is the first drive I've bricked. However, its also my first MS25 drive. After running the patch (i wanna say 4.2?) I get 1 red light in the lower corner with no video on screen. According to other posts, this is a bad bios version on my DVD drive. Apparently, this can be fixed. I have the orig.bin file still, but now I cant flash it back, I try to reflash it, and i get the a400 error after selecting the xtreme dvd drive.

details
- ms25 drive
- dos 6.22 os on a 8gb hard drive (pulled from an xbox, oddly enought)
- Windows XP Pro on a 10b hard drive (you guessed it, from an xbox)
- via6421a/l card, I cant remember which, its always worked

Anyone got any insight as to why i cant re-flash this dvd drive? I'm hurtin for cash, so bricking a customers DVD drive isn't really an option.

try to turn off and on twice before you choose the drive.  revert to working firmware (1.2c might be buggy)
