0800 Disc / Bad Flash Method
« Reply #1 on: January 28, 2007, 11:38:00 AM »

question on 0800 tends have usually a better chance in the Hacking/General forum, or Hacking/technical DVD-ROM forum. I left a link in backup so it is seen from there as well .
I believe they can be done SL now.

I do all my backups on a SH-D162C, so not 100% sure,  but do not believe the bad flash method replaces  the need for 0800 mode.
The bad flash is an additional step required (that or VCC trick)  by the MS28 for the flashing.

When you do a backup you should still need to put your samsung in 0800 mode.

Someone doing backup on his samsung will jump in to confirm or not

hope it helps, soso

Enable 0800 for the samsung drive allows windows to detect it and hence assign it a drive letter.  I have the VIA 8237 chipset and I can plug the 360 drive into my PC while it is in windows and it won't recongnize the drive until I put in the Enable 0800 disc in.

Hope this helps.

doing the bad flash recovery method unlocks the firmguard so for flashing you dont need the enable disc but for getting recognized in windows you do.
